I went through days like you’re going through a couple of weeks ago. I can relate. The chipmunk and wren photos are adorable! Thank you for sharing!!

Thank you, Sandi. It always helps to know I'm not alone. And, yes, chipmunk and wren are two cuteness ambassadors! I'm glad they're hanging around :)

Oh the squash bugs! Every year I think maybe I’ll have a nice crop of zucchini and then they hit.

I feel your pain 🥴. I wonder if squash bugs have any natural predators? Besides me, I mean … 😆

Such a lovely read. And the sadness and dysfunctional nights are very relatable. Hard to escape the global/national/local needless pain and suffering, not to mention any personal stressors. Yay for Carolina wrens and chipmunks!

Thanks, Lewis. Some days all the beautiful creatures are the only things that keep me going. Grateful for your encouragement.

How delightful, Laura B., that you wrote of Carolina Wrens! This morning during breakfast three nearly mature Carolina Wrens kept flying to (not into) the door to our patio. Three or four trips in succession. I wondered if curiosity, or a show of bravery, was playing out?! The displays of bravery by teenagers. 🐥🐥🐥

They are such bold little birds, Gary! And you are probably right that the juveniles are testing their nerve :). I do so hope I get to see our resident wrens fledge. It's an exciting exit to witness!
